Blessthefall Interview: Eric Lambert,
Mike Frisby, and Matt Traynor

How did you get signed?
Eric: Um, it was mostly our manager. Our manager came to our CD release about a year ago. He saw us and liked us, and he had a label that he was already working with, Science, and they kind of just went hand-in-hand with each other.
Do you feel like you have to keep up with an image in order for the band to be successful?
Eric: I think it comes with it sometimes, cause I mean like…N'Sync's a perfect example: everyone liked them cause they were super hot and everything. If we got fat and really weird looking, I don't know if we'd have the same fans or not. Hopefully we would. I guess there's some image in it, yeah.
Who writes the songs?
Eric: As of recently, we just get together and jam out some stuff, and if it sounds cool we structure it.
Do you think it's more important to write a song that's meaningful to you, or a song that you know people will like?
Eric: Us, definitely. I think when it means something to us, a lot of other people can relate to it. If you're writing for the public, it's just writing fake lyrics—it doesn't have a lot of meaning to it….
What kind of music are you guys into right now?
Eric: Jared loves techno…The only thing we're not into is country.
Matt: I kind of like Bon Jovi, too. Mike: Bow Wow, Usher, T-Paine…
Who writes your songs?
Eric: As of recently, we just get together and jam out some stuff, and if it sounds cool we structure it.
