Want To Write or Shoot
For azTeen Magazine?
We only sign on new teen writers and photographers once a year and
accept applications from November 1 through January 11. Applicants
must be Arizona high school students that will graduate between
2011 and 2014. Teen writers are unpaid but enjoy the educational
benefits of learning about the magazine publishing business. Applicants
who are selected will be contacted during January or early February
to attend an information meeting.

Include the following information:
>Full name, best phone contact, email address, MySpace and
Facebook addresses.
>Brief bio. Hobbies, interests, school activities, post-high school
plans, career aspirations and etcetera.
>Mission statement. A paragraph or two on why you would like
to join the azTeen staff and what you would contribute.
>Info on any previous journalism experience. High school newspapers,
yearbook, journalism or creative writing classes and etcetera.
>Two letters of recommendation from teachers or administrators that
specifically address your reliability, dedication and ability to make
deadlines and work well with others.
>Make a Hot 100 Nomination from your school. This is a paragraph
on a student, coach, teacher, administrator or school staff member whom
you believe deserves to be recognized in the annual azTeen Magazine
Hot 100 Issue for being a positive force in the lives of others within the
school community. Please include your nominee's name and title or
grade level if a student.
>Photographers, please include portfolio samples.
