Brianna McGraw Receives $1,000 Scholarship

Each year, Desert Schools Federal Credit Union offers scholarships to students in Maricopa, Pinal and Gila County, for their hard work and dedication, both in the classroom and in our community.

Brianna is one of those students that everyone notices. She has a way of standing out from the crowd by showing a true talent for leadership and service.
Brianna's goal is to become an elementary and special education teacher.Coming from a low income household, she understands that quality teachers truly make a difference.
Last year, Brianna began volunteering in a kindergarten class, reading to children, teaching language and reading skills and helping the teacher grade assignments. Brianna believes that volunteering in the classroom has inspired her peers to volunteer as well.
She has also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and has learned that "it's not what you get, it's what you give that really matters."
