Osama Didn't Just Hijack Those Planes,
He Also Hijacked My Religion.

The American Muslim Teenager's HandbookThe article's title represent the words of Imran Hafiz. He, his sister, Yasmine Hafiz and their mother, Dilara co-authored the book, The American Muslim Teenagers' Handbook. They've worked over three years to dispel the negative stereotypes that come from being a post-9/11 Muslim.

Today, Yasmine, Imran and their mother Dilara are proud co-authors of one of the first books on Islam written for teens. The book incorporates the different aspects of Islam in an entertaining way that both Muslim and non-Muslim teens can relate to and enjoy.

The American Muslim Teenager's Handbook is filled with how-to's for Muslim teens and explanations for non-Muslims on the reasons behind some of Islam's most widely practiced traditions. With a tone of humor, patience and understanding, these familial authors successfully get across the message of tolerance and thinking twice before you make assumptions about someone based on religion or beliefs.

Yasmine Hafiz '08 attends Xavier College Preparatory and her brother Imran Hafiz '10 attends Brophy College Preparatory both in Phoenix, Arizona.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to better understand the religion of Islam and its many similarities to most Western religions. The book can be purchased on Amazon.com or on the website: www.theamth.com.
