Of Teens That Make A Difference.

Theresa Kyte &
Brianna Bregman
Theresa and Breanna spoke on how “Today’s Teens Can Make a Difference Through Volunteering”; and they presented the founders of ChildHelp USA, Sara O’Meara and Yvonne Fedderson with their group’s donation of 100 “Love Bears and Books” to be distributed at the Downtown Phoenix Children’s Center of Arizona.
Theresa, Breanna and their group also volunteered to assist with the registration and live auction at the ChildHelp Charity Fashion Show which was attended by over 500 guests. The event was hosted by Amanda Jahn of Channel 3 News and was treated by the attendance of a special celebrity guest, Connie Stevens.
The members of Kids Caring For A Cause had sold drinks and breakfast items at Desert Mountain High School each morning for a week to raise enough money to purchase 100 bears from Build A Bear Corporation which graciously reduced the price. The group then contacted Khol's Department Store which donated 200 books to be packaged with the bears.
Kids Caring for a Cause Members who attended were:
Left to Right: Theresa Kyte, Emily Goodman, Hillary Kyte, Kara Bregman,
Maggie Benson, Michelle Andersen, Alexa Biondo, Dayna Carpay and
Breanna Bregman.
Editor's Note:
Theresa Kyte '10 of Desert Mountain High School and her sister, Hillary Kyte started "Kids Caring For A Cause" which today has 25 teenage members. As a group they sew baby blankets for Maggie's Place, help at charity events with ChildHelp USA and assist at the Phoenix Children's Hospital and Boys and Girls Clubs across America.
Theresa's goal is attending Walter Cronkite's School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University and establishing a career path towards becoming a broadcast news anchor. Theresa hopes one day to become just nearly as talented as her idol, Diane Sawyer.
